The Mighty Heiny caused a bi-partisan furor when Legislators found out about his plan to privatize county mental health services. Even Hein-o-phile Jeanette Provenzano criticized the Mighty One.
No doubt, Hein is feeling empowered by the lack of a Republican opponent. Given his nature, it's no surprise that Hein has decided this "policy" issue on his own without feeling the need to consult the Legislature. Hmmmmmm...Hein wants the Legislature to lead on sucky policy issues like Golden Hill and the Resource Recovery Agency while acting by fiat on less thorny issues.
While Legislators were slow to understand their role under the new government, they finally seem to getting the importance of being a check & balance against the Executive.

i'm so glad that the pictures are back!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I were a Democrat even thinking about running for office at the County level, this is the year to do it. King Mario will decimate what is left of the Republican party.
ReplyDeleteCan somebody tell me how privatizing the mental health department is not a policy issue? Hein will not give a position on Golden Hill saying it is the Legislature's role to make policy and now by fiat he is going to privatie mental health. The man is a hypocrite, a liar and a sneak.
ReplyDeleteThe head is not big enough.
ReplyDeleteWho actually believes their taxes will decrease along with County services?
